I-405 to close for 53 hours
Beginning Friday, September 28, 2012, the I-405 Freeway will close for 53 hours for demolition of the North side of the Mulholland Dr. Bridge.
The closure will be in both directions, similar to last year’s July shutdown for the South side demolition.
Many have referred to the closure as “Carmageddon II,” although last year’s Carmageddon was anything but. Many motorists stayed put, and contradicted predictions of a city-wide gridlock. Authorities are hoping people stay put for the two-day closure again.
Right of Way’s sister company, WCS Permits routed some trucks to and from the construction zone for the first phase of demolition.
The closure will end Sunday, September 30.
